We are Brent and Suzie Marcum. Along with our sons, we own and operate Salem Road Farms, a small, extremely diverse, natural farm located just 12 miles from downtown Oxford. Our 7½ acres are surrounded by woods on three sides. We grow fruits and vegetables outside and inside plastic high tunnels. By utilizing season extension methods, we can produce many items, such as lettuce and oriental greens year round. The plastic high tunnels through the summer produce superior crops of eggplant, cucumbers, peppers and basil, plus many others. Although we are not certified organic, we do not grow any genetically altered crops and only use organically approved fertilizers, pesticides and fungicides and then only when necessary. Our motto is “Into the Future We Grow.”

We strive to have superior quality fruit and produce, often incorporating unique varieties. Currently, we are expanding our production of tree fruits which include European and Asian pears, European and Japanese plums, peaches, apricots and sweet cherries. Small fruits include strawberries, blackberries, raspberries, blueberries, currants, gooseberries and other unusual varieties.
